A reader’s words. A lasting love.

A letter from Lisa

Hello everyone,

Today I want to share a few words that a reader left about my book, Phoenix: Forever 17: A Mother’s Promise.

Writing about Phoenix means holding so many things together: the boy I know and love, the everyday memories, the heartbreak, and my promise that he will always be remembered as a person, not only through the way his life ended.

To know that his story has reached another reader means a great deal to me.

A life remembered

Phoenix was funny, caring and full of his own ideas. He loved the gym, music, sharks and the sea. He was my son before he was ever a story in a book, and he will always be my son.

For anyone reading through their own grief, there is no expectation to feel a certain way or reach a particular point. Take a page at a time, pause whenever you need to, and keep the parts that feel right for you.

A new bookshelf for younger readers

For families using PheNature’s children’s PDF books, My Reading Nest is now available on the website. A grown-up can add a downloaded PDF, open the cover and turn the pages with their child. The reader remembers their place on that device.

Purchases do not appear automatically: first save the PDF from the purchase email, then choose Add a PDF book. Keep the original download as a backup. The grown-up guide explains how to add the reader to a phone or tablet’s home screen.
